The Influence of AI

Dear Sparks and Friends,
It's Spark Meeting time again!

Our theme this week is The Influence of AI

In today's rapidly changing world, Artificial Intelligence (AI) is no longer the privilege of tech companies—it has become a vital force woven into our daily lives.
It helps us access information faster, make smarter decisions, and improve areas such as healthcare, education, transportation, and even the environment.

The importance of AI lies not only in its ability to bring efficiency and convenience, but also in its power to expand human potential.
It is not here to replace us, but to assist us—giving us more time to focus on creativity, compassion, and critical thinking.

Mastering AI will soon be as fundamental as knowing how to use electricity or the internet.

All assignment takers please pick one of the following questions and send your answer to Toastmaster of Evening so she can introduce you properly during the session:

1. How can we use AI to help us?

2. How often do you use ChatGPT and for what?

Date: Thursday, August 14

Time: 7:30 PM – 8:30 PM

Location: 9F, No. 115, Sec. 2, Shipai Rd., Beitou District (Yongming Community Activity Center)

PS: Eat before you come—we're rolling straight through without a snack break!

We can't wait to see you at Spark!

Best wishes,

A Sense of Casualness vs. A Sense of Ritual
Dear Sparks and Friends,
It's Spark Meeting time again! ✨
Our theme this week is Casualness vs. Ritual.
In daily life, rituals are everywhere. Sometimes, they reflect how much we value a moment—like celebrating birthdays, anniversaries, or special milestones.
But not everyone is into rituals. Some people prefer to keep things casual—buying a treat just because they feel like it, or inviting friends out for dinner without needing a special reason or occasion.
In fan culture, rituals are also very common. Fans might celebrate an idol's birthday or mark a special day connected to a favorite character—like the anniversary of a work being recognized as a national treasure. Celebrations can take many forms: in Korea, fans often raise money to host themed birthday cafés or even hire coffee trucks to serve drinks and promote their idol. In Taiwan, fans sometimes rent MRT lightbox ads to celebrate a character or idol's birthday. Rituals are truly everywhere in fandom culture!
This week, we'd love to hear your thoughts: Do you stick to certain rituals in your life, or do you prefer to go with the flow? And how do these choices affect your daily life?
👉 All assignment takers please pick one of the following questions and send your answer to Toastmaster of Evening so she can introduce you properly during the session:
  1. Do you have any rituals you repeat regularly? Do they ever cause any inconvenience, or do they bring positive changes to your life?
  2. Do you have certain rituals that act like a "switch" for you, helping you shift into a specific mood or activity? (For example, needing to do something before binge-watching a show, or before working on crafts.)
This week's meeting will once again follow our table topic marathon format.
Also, a quick reminder: please wear comfortable clothing—our warm-up activity this time will need it! 😉

Date: Thursday, August 14
Time: 7:30 PM – 8:30 PM
Location: 9F, No. 115, Sec. 2, Shipai Rd., Beitou District (Yongming Community Activity Center)
PS: Eat before you come—we're rolling straight through without a snack break!

[Spark TMC]

🎬 The soundtrack kicks in, and suddenly you're there again, heart and all. 🎶💥
This week at Spark Meeting, we're shining the spotlight on a secret weapon that makes movies truly magical—movie soundtracks!
👋 Hey Spark friends—it's that time again!
Quick question: have you caught the new Demon Slayer movie yet? Only two days in theaters and it's already raked in over $100 million! 😱
Sure, an awesome film needs a talented director, actors, and an editing team… but there's another hero working behind the scenes (well, behind the speakers): 🎵 the soundtrack.
💡 Here's the thing:
✅ The right soundtrack = goosebumps, emotions dialed to 100%
❌ The wrong soundtrack = instant "wait, what?" vibes
From epic fight scenes to heart-tugging goodbyes, music sets the tone and pulls you deeper into the story. Sometimes, a single melody can stick with you for years.
So this week, we're making music the main character of the night. We want to hear YOUR stories:
1️⃣ If you turned your most recent trip into a short film, what music would you use? Got a perfect song in mind?
2️⃣ Is there a movie theme that instantly takes you back to its story? Why does it hit so hard?
3️⃣ Would you go to a live concert of movie scores—like Joe Hisaishi or John Williams? Why (or why not)?
📅 Mark your calendars for this week's Spark Meeting!
🎤 Bring your stories, your favorite tunes, and let's chat about how the right music can transform a film from good to unforgettable.
🗓 Date: Thursday, August 14
🕖 Time: 7:30 PM – 8:30 PM
📍 Location: 9F, No. 115, Sec. 2, Shipai Rd., Beitou District (Yongming Community Activity Center)
PS: Eat before you come—we're rolling straight through without a snack break! 🍽

See you in Spark!

主旨: [Spark TMC] Your Idols!!

Theme: IDOLS — the ones we admire (or secretly stalk on Instagram)

Who was your first idol?
A K-pop star like G-Dragon?
A Hollywood actor? A local hero?
Or… your dog? 🐶 (He is a good boy after all.)

We all have idols.
Some inspired us to dream big.
Some made us buy weird merch.

This week, we're diving into idol worship — in the best way.
💡 What can we actually learn from super idols like G-Dragon?
💡 Is it all glam and glitter, or is there wisdom behind the fame?

And hey, have you noticed?
Taiwan is getting a lot of idol visitors lately. Concerts, fan meetings, surprise café pop-ups... Even your grandma's watching Korean dramas now! 😲

So we're asking:
💬 What's the positive and negative side of having so many idols visit Taiwan?
💬 Are we winning in culture exchange… or just losing sleep waiting in ticket lines?

🎯 And here's the exciting part:
👉 This meeting will feature an extra-long and super-varied Table Topics session!
More fun questions. More chances to speak. More laughs.
(And maybe more awkward confessions. We won't judge. 😅)

This week's Table Topics may include:
🎤 Share a life lesson from your favorite idol
🎤 Confess your cringiest fan moment (yes, the one with the poster and tears)
🎤 If you were an idol, what would your fan club name be?

Look forward to seeing you!

 Reminder:
 Date: Thursday, Jul 24th
 Time: 7:30 – 8:30 PM
Location: Yong-Ming Community Center, 9F, No. 115, Sec. 2, Shipai Rd., Beitou, Taipei

[Spark TMC] Coming meeting on Jul 10th -

🌍 Spark Toastmasters

🌍 Spark Toastmasters Meeting Promo: End-of-the-World Prediction? We're Still Talking!

Did you hear the latest doomsday buzz?
On the early morning of July 5th, a prediction from Japan said the world might end.
But guess what? The sun still rose, the coffee machine still worked, and life… well, it went on.

At Spark Toastmasters, we believe even the end of the world deserves a great speech.
That's why our next meeting theme is:
"End-of-the-World Prediction"

Sure, the world didn't explode (again), but it got us thinking:
If today were really the last day, what message would you share?
What stories, laughs, or confessions have you been waiting to tell?
Would you speak differently, more boldly, more honestly?

Let's explore those questions together — not with fear, but with fun.
Expect creative table topics, thought-provoking speeches, and plenty of laughs as we dive into the end-of-the-world mindset (without the actual end, of course).
Whether you're a long-time Toastmaster or joining us for the first time,
this is your chance to reflect, express, and enjoy the moment — before the next prophecy rolls around!

🗓️ Date: [July 10th ]
🕰️ Time: [19:30~20:30]
Come for the speeches, stay for the fun — and bring your "last words" just in case. 😉
Because even if the world ends… Spark will go out in style!

See you in Spark!
